Atonement Lutheran Church - 2205 34th St, Missoula, MT
Little Systems (Berit Goetz and Jamie Doughterty) and John Hermanson of Storyhill (with Maren Haynes Marchesini) bring you an evening of sharing stories and songs that offer a glimpse of the kind of creative faith they’ve found as working artists against the backdrop of pandemic and political and personal upheaval. They hope to nourish and inspire the hearts and imaginations of all who are reaching for a resilient, generative, and generous Christian faith. Performed in the Nashville style "writer's round," they will take turns sharing songs, stories, and discussing the intersections of their spirituality, creativity, and contemplative practice.
Fall Retreat - Sharing Visions for Earthly Engagement
Saturday, November 8th, 2025 10am-3pm lunch included
Cost: free, donations accepted
Confluence Center at Headwaters Foundation (119 W. Main St)
How might the virtue of faithfulness, in its many senses and instantiations, play a necessary role in our healing the multitude of wounds that are being inflicted here and now upon the earth, its creatures and upon our fellow humans? In this workshop/retreat, participants will share their visions for a renewal of the vocation of Creation Care, however this might be understood (or named otherwise!) via diverse faith traditions. In particular, participants will question how Creation Care might involve not only advocacy for various policies and political initiative but also for the cultivation, both personally and via community, of conscience and conscientiousness in regard to the earth and its diverse creatures. What practices at the local level might be helpful in inspiring and sustaining faithful communities of Creation Care?
